Give A Girl A ... Saturated Canary - HOP!

Hello bloggers.

I was so excited when Kellie, the owner of Give A Girl A, asked me to join her, Krista - the owner of Saturated Canary, and many other creative ladies, to bring you guys a very fun blog hop, full of inspiration and awesome blog candy.

&

I've been on a "baby" kick.  Not that I want to have another one, OH NO!!, lol...  But that I keep looking at Giovanni's baby pictures, wondering where the time has gone.  He's only 2, but has the common sense and smarts of a 4 year old.  (Every mom says that, huh?... lol).

I recently printed out some newborn photos and had been wanting to use them in a project, but didn't exactly know how.  As you know I'm a SMASH*aholic, but I wanted these special photos to be used differently.

So I got to brainstorming and came up with this 12x12, really simple layout.

It's been a while since I created a layout, [Smashing is much easier for me], but I had so much fun creating it.

I used Simple Stories "Baby Steps" 6x6 pad to cut bits and pieces for the layout, a few stickers & rub-ons from my stash, faux stitching and some wood veneers to add cute touches here and there.

I colored the new Saturated Canary "Jelly Bug" digital stamp (available in Krista's shop soon), with Copics and added her to this layout because that adorable little critter just screamed "baby mobile" to me for some reason.  It was the perfect fit!

The stamp set I used from Kellie's Shop is called "Keen As Mustard".  The sentiments helped me capture the emotion/s I wanted to express in the layout.

There's still some journaling to add under "She said", "He said", but this layout is complete and will stay hanging in my craftroom for a while, at least until mom sees it and hints how much she'd love to have it.  lol.

* 2 BLOG CANDY WINNERS!!! *

I will be giving away 1 of Kellie's acrylic stamp sets (from her shop), and also a package full of yummy craft supplies (seen in the photo below).

To Win:
1 - follow my blog.
2 - leave a comment (by 3/5/13) telling me what was the last layout you made.
3 - hop along to the other blogs listed below and leave them a comment too.
(we'll be checking, so make sure you play along).

Next on the hop is the extremely talented Alyce, but all the blog links are below incase you get lost.

Love your layout and the way you popped in Krista's new digi--works perfectly! Wow, can't recall the last time I finished a layout, but I've been working on my wedding pages for some time now. As soon as my craft room is finished, it will be easier than pulling craft supplies into the kitchen counters.

Wonderful way to remember the birth of your son. :)

The last layout that I made was for my daughter's baby book a couple of years ago. She is now 18 years old!! I have some catching up to do. I find that I am way too OCD sometimes.

AWESOME!! Your page is so so cute. I'm pretty new to crafting so have not yet attempted a scrapbook page. But I wish I started earlier and did something like your page for all my kids. I guess its not too late as I have stacks of their photos lying around. Now I'll need some of Kellie's stamp sets.

Oh! Those sweet baby pictures and your layout is great! I love those baby days. I guess that's why I have 5 kids. And now my oldest is 15 and I am in a whirlwind asking the same question. Where did the time go? Do it's very important to capture every moment! I haven't done any scrapbook layouts but I do make lots of cards and my last Smashbook entry was for Wicked the musical.

Lilly said...
