Altered Birthday Guestbook

Happy Friday Crafters!!!

I woke up in such a good mood that I'm taking time out (before I get back to making Giovanni's birthday party invites - which will probably take me another week to finish all 35 of them) to blog about the last project I completed.

About 2 weeks ago I received a call from my aunt in Brooklyn who asked me to make a guestbook for my grandmother's 96th birthday party.  What started out as something small, turned into something big and she wanted to have a record book of the kids who attended, grandchil'rens, great grandchil'rens, (lol) etc.  The only thing I was sure about was where to get the blank white guestbook.  Everything else kind of came along after I started to alter it.  She mentioned that grandma's favorite colors were pink, yellow, blue and she loved animals.  I thought (oh great, I can add butterflies), but she mean like farm animals!!  LOL.

Well, after I hit up Jo-Ann over the weekend I started work on Monday.  I though it would take me 3 hours (at best) to complete, but what turned out to be a simple project, lasted 2 full days!!

The idea was to have a section for each one of my aunt's and uncles, and their families to sign the book within that section.  This way, we can keep track of whose who, because my family is so big and we've just about lost track.  LOL.

The photos below show the beginning to end details of the process and a list of supplies will be below.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and make sure to watch the video showing the book (live and in color - lol) at the end of this blog.

Thanks for stopping by.

The photos only show 4 out of the 11 kids my grandmother had.  I didn't want to show all the pages because there were too many and you get the idea with the first 4.  The last tab is "FRIENDS" and enough pages were left blank for that section.

This is the inside of the back cover.
